Jack says:
Tonight we had a new story book that I got for my birthday. If is about little boy called Albie and some naughty animals who steal his bed and make a space rocket out of it. Baked beans make the rocket go up in the sky with his sister in it. There are some zebras in the cupboard. I think it was a dream.
Daddy says:
This is really surreal book in which Albie has his bed stolen, meets strange animals and watches his sisted blasted into space. The rich, cartoon-like illustrations are detailed and colourful and the text is easy to read. I am not sure if the children understand why all these weird things keep happening to Albie - the story never really tells us that it wasn’t and it ends with his sister blasting off to the moon. Small children seem quite happy to accept that such surreal things can happen, but this book could be the start of a lot of pre bedtime questions such as “Are there any zebras in my cupboard?” or “Is someone going to come in as steal my bed?”. Jack and Megan don’t seem to worry too much about it and it has five stars on Amazon.co.uk
