Magic Colours

Tonight we had a magic book that changed colour. It was all about Rosie May who had to choose which colour dress she would wear. I choosed the yellow dress with spots on it. She couldn’t go outside because it was raining so she did some painting instead and at the end, a rainbow came in the sky. I asked Daddy why their was no colour white in the rainbow but there was some in the clouds.
Daddy Says:
This book is fascinating when you first see it because of the clever way that the picutres change as you alter the angle of the page. Rosie May can’t decide which colour dress to wear but the children have fun shouting out their choice, before we move on to the next page. Then the choices keep coming until, at the end, a rainbow apprears outside. The changing pictures are integrated well into the beautiful painted illustrations and the “one trick” nature of this book seems to still intrigue the children. Although the story is not as good as some more traditional books, the interest of this book lies in the picture technology and the price, more attractive than the cover price of £5.99, is worth the novelty.
