Today we had the book about Incy Wincy Spider. He jumps between lots of different animals with a shiny web that goes all over the page. I like it when he tickles under the ducks beak. Incy Wincy Spider is a bit frightened by the animals but he finds his mummy at the end. I saw a lot of ducks when we went for a walk today and they chased us a bit.

Incy Wincy Spider, by Keith Chapman and Jack Tickle, has been a favourite book in our house since both the children were quite small. It takes the familiar character and spins some brilliant ryhming adventures as the spider is buffeted around between the animals on a farm. The pictures are funny and colourful and each page has special sparkly web that maps out Incy’s progress. This book, whose title suggests a simple rehash of the familiar ryhme, is actually very original and entertaining.
