Commotion In The Ocean

We had a new book at bedtime to night. It was all about things that live in the sea. Meggy and me did not know what all the things were called but we could see the starfish hiding in the pictures. There was a really big shark called a whale which had little bananacrawls stuck to it. I don’t want to be eaten by a lobster.

This is a new book for us and I can’t believe we missed out on it before. It is full of colour illustrations of the creatures that live under the sea and each picture has plenty of details to look at. The book is has each page dedicated to a different animal with a funny rhyme that describes it. It would have been really easy to read had the children not kept asking so many questions about the pictures. I think this book will last us for a while. For younger toddlers, there is plenty of sounds and colours to marvel at but there is enough information about the sea life to be educational for older children. Although not pretending to be factual, the book manages to help children start ot learn about the ocean. This book is part of a series and I think we will end up getting some of the other ones too!
